OC Entrepreneurs Opportunity for Pro Bono Legal Incorporation Services
Startup Law Initiative at Berkeley Law offers free incorporation services to entrepreneurs
Through the Startup Law Initiative (SLI), 1L students team up with law firms to provide free legal incorporation services to Bay Area startup founders and local entrepreneurs.
SLI’s services allow founders to overcome costly legal barriers to conducting business. Students are put into small groups and assigned a startup client to work with over the course of the semester. Students’ work includes research, client intake, interviews, drafting and filing documents (e.g., articles of incorporation), and interactions with clients and supervising attorneys.
Founders must meet income requirements to qualify for assistance.
SLI is currently looking for 6 entrepreneurs seeking to incorporate their business as a Delaware C-Corp in the spring.
If you are interested, please complete the Spring 2023 Application Link and feel free to include any relevant details about your business or how their services would provide assistance. The application should not take more than 10 minutes. They encourage anyone needing incorporation services to apply, but they typically select candidate companies in most need of their pro-bono services.
Applications are due by January 30th, 2023, but please note that all applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Founders should expect to start in February 2023 and finish incorporation by April 2023.
