Register now for the 2025 Irvine Dream Run

Here’s your chance to run around the iconic Great Park Balloon at the 2025 Irvine Dream Run on the morning of April 26!

Runners and walkers will have the option to participate in a 5K or a 3K – or both – in Orange County’s biggest park. The giant tethered orange helium balloon will be watching!

Every entry includes a race shirt, medal, finish line photo, and access to the post-race expo complete with a bouncy house, live music, food trucks, booths from our vendors, and more. A VIP entry is available that includes sunglasses and a headband.

The 5K will start at 7:30 am, and the 3K takes off at 8:30 am. The expo will run from 8 to 11 am - all on Saturday, April 26.

There is also a virtual run option for $25 (plus $2.50 handling fee) to receive a race shirt and medal. Registration for that category closes on April 23.

All proceeds from the run benefit the Sunstone Community Fund, a donor-advised fund supporting a network of universities, nonprofit organizations, and public-private partnerships to advance innovation and entrepreneurship in the Greater Irvine area and beyond.

In its two years of existence, the Sunstone Community Fund has already donated or committed $1 million in sponsorships for entrepreneurial competitions, workshops and events to benefit small business owners both at the university level and the community at large. By sponsoring the Dream Run, your organization will showcase its leadership in the philanthropic sector and commitment to the vital nonprofit work of SCF.

John Shen, founder of both companies, had the idea for the Dream Run.

“Irvine is a place where many people are pursuing their American Dream,” Shen said. “They are doing it by supporting innovation and entrepreneurship. It’s fitting that a Dream Run celebrates those principles and supports them as well.”

The inaugural Irvine Dream Run in 2024 attracted nearly 400 runners, more than 100 volunteers and media attention from the Orange County Register and other outlets, providing great exposure for sponsors. The run’s move to the Great Park Balloon in the center of the Great Park has already begun to ramp up the excitement. It also will allow for a larger post-run expo, including live music, food trucks, a bounce house, booths and more.
